Go for it – 'Reach Out To Rock' – with this excellent four-piece.
Sweden is well known for its tight knit music community and healthy Hard Rock music scene. So, it should come as no surprise that a highly talented group of four Rockers would 'Reach Out To Rock' from this country!
Reach are just that; a four-piece consisting of Alex Waghorn, David Jones, Ludvig Turner and Marcus Johansson who have combined their musical talents to create a Hard Rock sound that instantly draws you in. You will find it all here from a pulsating percussion sound that is solidly anchored by a rhythmic bottom end to some tasteful, yet energising, lead riffs. The whole package is topped off by a voice that is both on the husky side, yet towering as well!
These lads mean business! They are out to Rock us – in the most melodious way! The group came in to being in 2012, with drummer Johansson and guitarist Turner as the founding members. The two wanted to do just one thing, to make Melodic Hard Rock that was full of vigour and fluid guitar riffs. Once they found bassist Jones and singing sensation Waghorn, they set about doing just that!
All four are experienced musicians and road warriors and it shows – this debut is a very tight and exact recorded work. It also sounds effortless with each musician sounding like they have been playing for many more years than their actual ages.
'Reach...' is a collection of ten songs that not only showcase the individual musical talent within, but also each of the band member's various influences which all combine brilliantly to creates their own sound. This is not a group that copies, but one that is proud of the music they grew up with and have the ability to add a high degree of freshness and originality to it, with toughened melodies that "reach" out and envelope you within a wall of sonic melody.
Reach have enough of that famously mentioned "it" (thanks for not using the "other" phrasing/reference synonymous with a certain TV show – Ed) to take them way above the pack! So go for it – 'Reach Out To Rock' – with this excellent four-piece!
