A successful amalgamation that sets out to entertain and does just that.
Just so you know, the White Coast is the area of Spain where the delightful town of Benidorm is situated, and it's also the home to the White Coast Rebels, who at one point appeared in the TV show 'Benidorm', which I've never seen so I couldn't care less.
Despite their ITV superstardom, White Coast Rebels are keen to keep it old school with their music, hanging on to the Eighties like it's an old aunt with a large inheritance. There's no pretensions here, and any band that can entertain with tracks called 'I Love You Baby – Baby', 'Lock Up Your Daughters' and the title track are okay by me. Lead guitarist and vocalist Jonny Hellraizer (oh dear) can certainly wail, and has a good ability to sing in a few completely different tones that suit individual songs. When listening to 'Buried And Dead', for example, I had to scour the inlay looking for mention of Tom Keifer as guest vocalist. It took a trip to YouTube to convince me that Mr Hellraizer himself does all the vocals, from down and dirty to high and screechy.
'Hangin' With The BAD BOYS' (yes, the capitals are important) is a thoroughly enjoyable album that takes in NWOBHM, glam, suvvern rock and anything else that is made with 90% proof whiskey with a shot of tequila. It's a successful amalgamation that sets out to entertain and does just that. If you like no frills rock and roll that kicks ass and takes no prisoners, then head on over to the white coast and join up with the rebels.
