Reckless Love - O2 Academy Islington, London (UK) - 10th October 2013
The Finnish bombshells returned to the UK to cause some more serious damage. On their previous visits to the country they demonstrated their abilities as entertainers and this time around was no exception. With a new album 'Spirit' under their belt (their third), the glam rockers opened up in a restrained fashion with 'I Love Heavy Metal' before moving rapturously to an explosive 'Bad Lovin'', both songs from the new release.
Despite having made their debut only in 2010, 'On The Radio', 'Born To Break Your Heart', 'Beautiful Bomb', 'Animal Attraction' and 'Wild Side' are now considered old-time favourites and the band were wise enough to include them in their set. Alongside those, new tracks such as the mysterious 'Dying To Live', the commercial 'Edge Of Our Dreams' and 'Runaway Love', the rocking 'So Happy I Could Die' and the colossal 'Night On Fire' sounded even bigger than on the CD and were performed with charisma and strength.
The gym addicts – judging by their toned physiques – saved the best for last with their party anthems 'Hot' and 'One More Time', leaving the crowd eating from their hands. It is undeniable that the blonde Michael Monroe/David Lee Roth look-a-like frontman Ollie can move crowds like no other and his band mates Hessu on drums, guitarist Pepe and bassist Jalle assist him to form the perfect party team.
They are certainly an inspiration to any glamster.
