Full of surprises and excellently delivered.

Robert Tepper is a name that most may not recognise, but I guarantee you'll know his work! Through the decades, his music has evoked emotions from many music lovers out there.

Starting in the sixties, Tepper began getting noticed by other well-known artists for his talented song-writing, and as the years flowed on his talents grew, as did his popularity with fans from inside the "biz" as well as outside. People began to seek out this songsmith to record his material or use it in soundtracks, the most notable being Sylvester Stallone who ended up using Tepper's signature track 'No Easy Way Out' in 'Rocky IV' and 'Angel In The City' in 'Cobra' during the mid-eighties.

Shortly before this, Tepper had garnered a recording contract with the then fledging Scotti Brothers Records and never looked back. In the nineties, MTM Music released another Tepper solo album entitled 'No Rest For The Wounded Heart'. He continued with collaborations/song-writing and then in 2012 released 'New Life Story', primarily in Europe where he found an appreciative audience. It was also around this time that he met up with Spanish guitarist Pablo Padilla. Both started to build their musical relationship and this creative pairing of talent continue to expand their collective musical horizons. After a year of intense writing and producing, we now have 'Better Than The Rest'.

This record is being released through AORHeaven which is quite appropriate as this collection of Melodic Rock does indeed touch upon music heaven. From the opener 'Why Does Over (Have To Be So Sad)' you realise that something very special is upon you. This album is a full-on collaboration between Tepper and Padilla, and one that creates some of the most beautiful tracks in recent memory. A varied bed of music that is both solid and magical with a spring-like freshness that seems to pour from the music and Tepper's voice. This is a harmonious collection where both artists push the boundaries of what is considered Melodic Rock. There is an edge that runs through it with songs that seem just a tad brighter and contain a touch more harmony; it takes the tried and true style of AOR to higher levels.

'Better Than The Rest' is full of surprises and excellently delivered – both vocally and musically – and it begins with the opening notes of 'Why Does Over...' and continues to the very end of 'You Know Just How You Feel'.
