If you're a fan of the lighter side of Classic Rock, it's definitely worth your interest.

'The Lost Radio Show' is the sixth album (with a twist) from this German group fronted by vocalist Jörg Sieber and guitarist Robert Papst. It is made up of lost live recordings from a studio session intended for a radio show from 2008. They were "lost" due to a hard disc crash and tapes of unused songs were discovered ten years later, therefore, this recording is made up of the fifteen "lost" tracks which have now been newly recorded.

'One More Sugar' kicks off the record and it's very AC/DC-like to start off before a Deep Purple organ solo kicks in, however, when the male vocal comes through, it is more like Jimmy Barnes. There is also a duet on this song with a female singer, who I believe is Janina Dietz (whoever it is, her voice is a delicious cross between Doro and Janis Joplin) and it's all rather catchy as is the follow-up number 'Satellite'; the same could be said of the later tracks 'Irresistible', 'Coming Home' and 'Let's Talk About Life'.

'Dark Dogs' starts off a little like ZZ Top, although it does feature keyboards which take it in a more AOR-like direction, whereas 'Angels Don't Cry', 'Senses' and 'Here I Am' are pure AOR crossed with Pop. 'I Don't Know' has the big eighties keyboard intro and it's a ballad that is also another duet with a superb female guest singer – once again, I am guessing this is Dietz. 'Raining' is almost like a Dolly Parton Country song and it's none the worse for that, while 'No More Lies' is a bit similar to Fleetwood Mac rocking with harmonised vocals. It's not easy from the bio to link the female singers – Grazia Satler, Jane Bogaert or Dietz – to specific tracks, although Dietz is the only one listed with both backing and lead vocals, thus I assume the duet songs feature her – either way, they all do a good job.

When I first listened to this album, it sounded a bit dated to me, but I'm glad I persevered with it. The more times I played it, the more I really enjoyed it, so if you're a fan of the lighter side of Classic Rock, it's definitely worth your interest.
