'Scaryman' is indeed a positive test from a group with ample borders for growth.

Let me ask you a quick question, do you really think that Glam is dated? Have you locked all your glitter, make-up, fake eyelashes and paillettes in a drawer? Of course you haven't, certainly not if you're someone willing to give this group a chance.

Lipz are reliving the good old eighties, a band that have surely grown up with the likes of Poison and Cinderella, but they have their own words to say as well. There has been a new wave of Swedish Glam and Street Rock in the last ten to fifteen years, a period that's witnessed bands coming and going within the music scene, but Lipz just stay strong – you'd better believe it – and they are here today with their latest flirty, brazen and genuine release entitled 'Scaryman'. At first glance or listen, they could seem to be a bit too much of an "easy listen", but songs like 'Star' and 'Get Up On The Stage' can make you change your mind with a solid, thick and heavy sound. This group is a really interesting trio with talented singer Alex Klintberg (guitar/vocals) also handling all the bass lines.

Musically, it's good stuff with melodies and super-catchy choruses, but also a great amount of riffs and a cool dose of Hard Rock. They know how to make the guitars roar and 'Fight' will testify to that, while 'Get It On' is going to steal your heartit shines in its perfect make-up as a real starlette. We can hear traces of all the big guns from this genre, but you can also find personality and attitude here as well; maybe Lipz have been farsighted to wait and give us their record now, fresh from the cauldron of the Swedish Sleaze revolution that appeared a few years ago. They've worked hard and made it, hitting the target with a real anthem like 'Trouble In Paradise'. I must give an honourable mention to the acoustic bonus track, 'Everytime I Close My Eyes', where Klintberg steals the spotlight and gives us a very convincing performance to make us think that this band is going far and that we have to follow them with special care.

'Scaryman' is indeed a positive test from a group with ample borders for growth. We're going to hear a lot more about Lipz in the future, especially if they continue to grow yet keep their authenticity and raw attitude.
